Dr. Teressa Stewart
Minister of Music, Good Hope Baptist Church
Dr. Stewart is a native of Hancock County, Sparta Georgia, and the second eldest of four children. She was reared in a small town, where the community helped shape the foundation of her being, becoming self-directed and processing unique qualities for life.

She excelled through the public school system, became a 1976 graduate of the Hancock Central High School, and matriculated at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. where she received a B.A. Degree in Music Education in 1980. Years later, she received a Certification of Distinction in Carl P. Orff Music Pedagogy Studies from the Cincinnati Music Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Stewart served as an Elementary and Middle School Music Teacher in the Baldwin County Public School System, Milledgeville, Georgia for sixteen years. Making a strong impact on the students gave her a desire to work closer with children. She worked and earned a Master of Science Degree in School Counseling and Psychology in 1996 from the Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Georgia, then secured a 4 year position as lead school counselor for Baldwin Middle school.

In 2001, she obtained and Educational Specialist Degree (ED.s) in School Counseling from Troy State University, Troy Alabama. Ms. Stewart was appointed to serve in a three year position as assistant Principal/Lead Counselor in Baldwin County at the Oak Hill Middle School in Milledgeville, Georgia under the administration of Geoff Moore (Retired superintendent) from the country of New Zealand.    More...
